I wanted to share this with you. As you know, THE BOARDROOM EDGE focus on collaboration and on generating referrals for THE BOARDROOM EDGE Members.
Mother Teresa, who was born in 1910, devoted her life to helping the poor, the sick, and the homeless. For many years, she worked in the slums of Kolkata, aiding what were then some of the world’s poorest people. Her singular goal was to help “the unwanted, the unloved, the uncared for.” She was famous for working with individuals with leprosy, a long-lasting infection, and in doing so put her own safety at high risk. While she reached out to individuals in need, she also saw a world in need, and so she founded a charity organization – Missionaries of Charity – that scaled to over 5,000 participants operating schools, shelters, and aid offices in 120 countries.
As we learn about this remarkable woman, I can’t help but think about THE BOARDROOM EDGE. Mother Teresa exemplified giving of herself. And she did so passionately and selflessly. She sets an example for us all – even today.
How can we honor her passion and selflessness?
Perhaps the referral, the leads we give to a fellow THE BOARDROOM EDGE Member will change their life. Maybe the lead it will enable them to provide more referrals to other THE BOARDROOM EDGE Members. Perhaps the lead, it will help them support their family, and respond to those in need in their communities. Maybe our work together in THE BOARDROOM EDGE gives our lives more profound meaning. I believe it does.
In the words of Mother Teresa, “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” Let’s recommit to giving of one’s self and let’s give as much as we can to those around us. As we do so, each of our lives will have more significance and meaning, and THE BOARDROOM EDGE will have an even more significant impact on the world around us.
